Living Room Groups
What is a Living Room Group?
A Living Room Group (LRG) is a small group, usually less than ten people, that meet regularly to support one another, build skills and take local action in these polarized times.
LRG’s are initiated by anyone who wants to be a host. The Host agrees to be the lead to convene a group regularly to build relationships and support one another. They invite people they’d like to have in their group.
How do they work?
Meet locally: in someone’s home, a coffee shop, or a church etc.
Meet regularly: monthly or whatever works for the group, for about an hour or two.
Share openly: each person tells their story and listens to others.
Take Action: The intent is to build a network of support, oftentimes individuals or the group decide to take action on a particular topic.
The finding common ground Initiative provides training and support for Living Room Groups. We host a weekly Zoom call for Hosts to share, learn and network. If you are interested in hosting or joining a Living Room Group send us an email.
Finding Common Ground Initiative (“Common Ground”) is a fiscally-sponsored project of the Spokane Independent Metro Business Alliance (SIMBA), a 501(c)(3). Your donation is tax-deductible.The proceeds of your donation directly support Finding Common Ground.
